McGregor PACE is seeking a Home Health Aide to provide personal care and safety, assist with activities of daily living, and perform light housekeeping for participants in a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). This role requires certification as a Home Health Aide, CNA, or STNA, and offers a $15.50 hourly rate. Schedules are available for both first and second shifts, including PRN weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day personal care and safety of the participant.
  • Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, toileting, bathing, ambulation, feeding, dressing and participating in recreational activities; encourages independence as appropriate.
  • Responsible for light housekeeping, laundry, and assisting with meal preparation.
  • Anticipates needs in order to carry through activities in organized, efficient manner; prepares all supplies and work area before beginning activities.
  • May participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as requested; communicates relevant participant information to supervisor.
  • Completes required documentation, including notes, etc., according to organizational guidelines and time frames, in a legible and complete manner.
  • Reports participant status changes to supervisor and other staff as relevant.
  • Validates competency in basic skills and personal care services, annually, and as otherwise required.
  • Completes ongoing training program requirements, as per organizational policy.
  • Follows organizational policy for call-off’s, completing time sheets.
  • Assists with errands – grocery shopping or replenishing household goods.
  • Understands and utilizes principles of infection control, including handwashing, bag procedures and care of the infectious patient.
  • Innovative in providing service with available resources.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Home Health Aide certification or CNA (certified nursing assistant) or STNA (state tested nursing assistant) education required.
  • Prior experience working with frail, older adults, or persons with special needs required.
  • Experience with dementia patients, desirable.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license or State of Ohio identification and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift or move 50 – 75 lbs.

Preferred

  • CPR certification

McGregor PACE is a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE site), the alternative to nursing home placement providing services that address the medical, rehabilitative, social, and personal care needs enabling seniors to remain safely at home, in the community.


1st and 2nd shift schedules at our East Cleveland, Warrensville Heights, and Brooklyn locations


$16.00/hour with a $1.00 shift differential for weekends!

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift or move 50 – 75 lbs.
