Position Overview

We are seeking motivated, proactive, Security Guards to ensure the safety and security of our guests. Our hotel provides 24/7 security guard coverage for the safety and security of visitors, tenants, and employees. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience in a soft-launch, phased-opening of a hotel.

• Provide End of Shift Recaps

Qualifications

• 8-hour Security Training Certificate required
• Security License required
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Viable transportation to and from the hotel
• Understanding and comfortability using radio/communications units
• Ability to interact effectively and calmly with guests
• Position requires constant standing, walking, and moving throughout and in front of the hotel
• Position requires good writing, basic technology skills, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of security industry best practice across relevant security operations (loss prevention, conflict resolution, access control, etc.)
• Safety, First Aid, AED and CPR training and certification is
• Self-starter, independent, good presentation, and problem-solving skills
• Analytical, detailed oriented, organized, result-oriented, and articulate

Role Responsibilities

• Be a positive ambassador of the hotel
• Articulate and represent the brand, its guests and employees in a professional and positive manner
• Provide high quality, efficient, friendly, energetic interactions with guests and visitors
• Welcome guests upon arrival
• Actively secure the entries and all premises of the property
• Monitor and respond to radio/communications checks
• Provide coverage for the Front Desk as needed
• Maintain knowledge of general safety practices and specific post functions
• Record daily shift notes and identify for patterns in security risks
• Security Guards must be completely familiar with the facility and any factors that might affect their operating procedures
• Report any lost items, maintenance issues, escalated policy noncompliance, theft, fire, injury, damage or suspicious activity to management immediately
• Checking guests in and out of their rooms as needed
• Alleviating disruptions to guest experience by intervening and resolving security issues
• Keep all working spaces neat and orderly at all times
• The use of foul or abusive language at any time, regardless of provocation, will not be tolerated
• Provide support and assistance to co-workers and other departments as requested by supervisor; participate in team meetings and implementation of property projects and goals
• Be aware of, and inspect, post(s) or section(s) for conditions requiring attention; and report immediately to the supervisor and the Command Center any unusual crime, occurrence, accident or condition
• Render all necessary service in assigned area and as directed
• Investigate suspicious conditions on the post
• Give attention to hazardous conditions
• Maintain activity log and complete daily reports
• Report observed not secure and unsafe conditions
• Monitor vehicles parked in loading zone in front
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• This full-time role offers a competitive salary based on experience, skills, and education, with the added benefit of weekly pay
