Responsibilities

  • Review customer orders, evaluate forecasted demand vs. current inventory, and streamline the supply chain process to ensure on-time delivery
  • Direct a supply base that achieves benchmarks on quality, cost, delivery, and innovation
  • Evaluate current vendors/suppliers and provide recommendations regarding their performance
  • Research, identify, and vet new vendors/suppliers
  • Engage in contract negotiations with new vendors/suppliers to establish suitable terms and pricing for raw materials, finished goods, services, etc.
  • Follow up with vendors/suppliers regarding on open orders and ship dates
  • Review vendors/suppliers for compliance, complete scorecards regarding their performance, and communicate with them regarding their current status and areas for improvement
  • When necessary, dual-source alternative options to ensure production is not delayed
  • Meet regularly with the Supply Chain team to communicate updates and to update to-do lists
  • Gather data, complete analyses, and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Conduct in-depth cost and spend analyses within your department, develop cost savings initiatives, and achieve all cost reduction savings targets
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and market developments in your respective categories

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience where primary duties involved sourcing and directly managing suppliers/vendors
  • Experience working for a manufacturing organization
  • 3+ years of experience writing proposals and leading the RFI/RFQ/RFP sourcing process
  • Proficiency with leading negotiations for high value contracts
  • Understanding of how sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain teams successfully integrate and work together as a team
  • Results-driven person who consistently meets and exceeds organizational goals
  • Natural problem-solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or related field is required (this is non-negotiable)
  • Must have 5+ years of professional experience where your primary duties involved sourcing and directly managing suppliers/vendors
  • Must have experience working for a manufacturing organization
  • Must have 3+ years of experience writing proposals and leading the RFI/RFQ/RFP sourcing process
  • Must be proficient with leading negotiations for high value contracts
  • Must understand how sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain teams successfully integrate and work together as a team
  • Must possess a track record of being a results-driven person who consistently meets and exceeds organizational goals
  • Must be a natural problem-solver who possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
