Technical Business Analyst/ Project Manager - CFH - Remote

Resource 1 is seeking a technical Business Analyst/ Project Manager for a remote contract-for-hire position. This is a great opportunity for a Business Analyst passionate about data and getting more involved in project management. Looking for a strong BA with experience working in the space of enterprise data warehouses, business intelligence, reporting and dashboards. Business Analyst should have strong SQL skills and at least 1 year experience working as a Project Manager or assisting with PM-related responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be able to create the bridge between project requirements and source system data. Applicants must have enough technical knowledge to understand the complexities of development and to analyze data to determine the feasibility of business requirements. Applicants must be comfortable in front of various and diverse levels of business users and be able to drive them forward in defining reporting solutions and requirements that are consistent, well thought through, well defined and provide solid business value. This position will have significant responsibility in driving business-critical reporting projects for a highly complex data environment.

Responsibilities:

• Work with customers (mostly internal) to understand business needs, document detailed business requirements and define business value.
• Analyze and understand the business data related to existing dashboards and data marts and understand how the data required for new requirements will fit into existing structures.
• Perform data analysis and validation using SQL queries (SELECT statements, WHERE clauses, joins, etc.).Act as the first line of defense when problems arise with dashboards/ reports.
• Develop precise documentation of prioritized functional requirements that can directly be converted to use cases, test plans and acceptance criteria.
• Create and present project plans and project status updates to IT teams, customers and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience as a technical Business Analyst, including analyzing/ documenting requirements, communicating with stakeholders, facilitating UAT, etc.5+ years of experience working on data-related projects (e.g., business intelligence, data warehousing, data visualizations/ reporting, etc.).
• Experience analyzing complex data using SQL and/or custom reports to validate requirements feasibility and assist in troubleshooting data issues.1+ years of experience performing project management-related responsibilities, such as creating project plans, ensuring projects are completed on time/ within budget, running meetings, etc.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate with vice presidents, developers, data architects, infrastructure team members and peers.
• Must be able to work independently and proactively find solutions to problems with little guidance.
• Environment consists of Business Objects, SAP Analytical Cloud, Oracle and Erwin, so experience with these tools or similar is desired. Knowledge of Smartsheets is a plus.
