A32 Dental Professional is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist to join their team in Laredo, TX. Responsibilities

  • Review daily schedule with the administrative staff for hygiene patients
  • Prepare treatment room for patients by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols
  • Perform thorough and gentle prophylaxis to patients
  • Perform scaling, root planing and selective polishing for patients as appropriate
  • Administer topical anesthetic to patient
  • Place medicaments subgingivally (under the gumline) for periodontal disease treatment
  • Take radiographs of patients as prescribed by dentist
  • Apply cavity-preventative agents, such as fluorides and sealants
  • Communicate with patients in an understandable and professional way
  • Teach proper oral hygiene techniques to patients
  • Counsel patients/parents on oral health, including the role of nutrition
  • Accurately chart each patient’s periodontal health
  • Properly chart and maintain patient electronic and written records in compliance with office policies and procedures, and applicable legal requirements, such as the HIPAA privacy and security regulations
  • Accurately enter patient information data
  • Check treatment room for cleanliness and make necessary changes
  • Review, select and submit orders for patient education materials for the practice
  • Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments
  • Clean treatment room surfaces with disinfectant solution
  • Pre-soak soiled instruments in disinfectant
  • Sort and package instruments by tray for proper sterilization

Qualifications

Required

  • Licensed to practice dental hygiene in the state of Texas
  • Completed education from an accredited dental hygiene program
  • Nitrous monitoring certificate

Preferred

Primary Responsibilities:
