  • Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed
  • Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
  • Minimum of perioperative nursing experience
  • CNOR and RN-First Assistant class required within one year of hire/transfer
  • BLS/ACLS required within first year
  • Demonstrates continued competence in assisting and in perioperative nursing

Mercy South offers RNFA Fellowship for any OR Experienced RN interested in obtaining an RNFA.


Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the over all effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and guiding principles.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

  • Experience: Must have a minimum of perioperative nursing experience

  • Certifications:

    • CNOR and RN-First Assistant class required within one year of hire/transfer.

    • BLS/ACLS required within first year.
  • Other: Demonstrates continued competence in assisting and in perioperative nursing
