Chromatography Field Service Engineer I

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

**Job Description**

**Territory: Remote based working from home office - Los Angeles Area and surroundings, up to 50% overnight travel may be required.**

**Experience & Responsibilities**

+ Perform on-site installation and preventive maintenance of Chromatography (https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/industrial/chromatography.html?SID=fr-chromatography-main) and Mass Spectrometer (MS) (https://www.thermofisher.com/us/en/home/life-science/protein-biology/protein-mass-spectrometry-analysis.html?SID=fr-frc-mass-spec-main) equipment at customer labs

+ Handle personal parts inventories, complete job tasks and complete service reports using service ticket management software

+ Familiarize customers with instrument functionality, hardware, and software

+ Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer

+ Regularly attend factory provided technical and service training on innovative products developed by Thermo Fisher Scientific

+ Work in conjunction with Service and Sales teams

+ Review customer data and run factory protocols to troubleshoot instrumentation

+ Share diagnostic information with engineering, factory, field service, management, and other personnel to expedite repairs

**Preferred Experience**

+ Technical knowledge and experience maintaining HPLC, IC, or MS systems.

+ Field Service

**Minimum Education & Experience Requirement:**

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

+ 3+ years of maintenance on chromatography equipment experience strongly preferred.

+ Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience .

**Compensation and Benefits**

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $25.60-$38.40.
