  • Required to be CPI trained and implements behavior interventions

  • Communicates with shift lead daily events and information to ensure a smooth transition from day to night care
  • Works with the overall team of the facility in a friendly and professional manner
  • Follow all licensing standards and facility policies and procedures

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a Valid Texas Drivers Licensing
  • 21 years old (insurance purposes)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with co-workers, medical personnel, and other persons necessary to care for the child's needs
  • Ability to complete or have prior to employment TB Skin Test, EBI training, CPR/First Aid/AED (Adults)

Full Job Description

**FUNCTION:**
Responsible for the daily direct care of residents. Youth males ages 11 to 17 years of age.

**DUTIES:**
Treat the children with respect and kindness
Knowing which children, they are responsible for
Being aware of and accountable for each childs on-going activity
Providing the level of supervision necessary to ensure each childs safety and well-being, including auditory and/or visual awareness of each childs on-going activity as appropriate; and
Being able to intervene when necessary to ensure each childs safety.
In deciding how closely to supervise a child, the caregiver must take into account:
The childs age;
The childs individual differences and abilities;
The indoor and outdoor layout of the operation;
Surrounding circumstances, hazards, and risks; and
The childs physical, mental, emotional, and social needs.
Be aware of the childrens habits, interests, and any special needs;
Provide a safe environment;
Cultivate developmentally appropriate independence in children through planned but flexible program activities;
Positively reinforce childrens efforts and accomplishments;
Ensure continuity of care for children by sharing with incoming direct care staff all of the information about each childs activities during the previous shift and any verbal or written information or instructions given by the parent or other professionals; and
Maintain daily shift notes for each child, and sign and date each shift note at the time the shift note is completed.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**
High School Diploma or GED
Must have a Valid Texas Drivers Licensing
21 years old (insurance purposes)
High school diploma; or
High school equivalency, such as a General Educational Development (GED); and
Be able to read, write, and communicate (in English) with co-workers, medical personnel, and other persons necessary to care for the child's needs.

**PAY CATEGORY:**
Hourly 14.00 to 16.00 (based on experience)

**Work week details:**
6:00 AM to 2PM (Shifts Available)
2pm to 10 pm(Shifts Available)
10 PM to 6a - No shifts available


**Ability to pass a Criminal and FBI background Check**
