Arkansas Support Network is seeking a dedicated and highly sensitive individual to join our team as a Direct Support Professional. The role involves offering support and assistance to individuals assigned to the Community Living Services division, facilitating and empowering consumers to live in a home, make the most of community resources, and attend school or work. Responsibilities
- Provides direct, day-to-day support, services, and resources as defined in the clients’ individual plan.
- Aids assigned individuals in maintaining their homes in a neat, clean, and safe manner, including adherence to fire and health regulations, oversight of personal budgets, weekly expense records, account balances, and menu planning.
- Supports and aids consumers in various daily activities, including transportation, school/work/community functions.
- Completes required documentation in accordance with organizational requirements, including emergency files, time sheets, travel logs, calendars, medication records, accident/incident forms, written inventories, Health Professional Visitation Form, petty cash forms, and other necessary records.
- Promotes community engagement, encouraging individuals to participate actively. This involves creating opportunities for skill development, such as communication and adaptability, while fostering a secure and inclusive environment.
- Attends competency-based training as well as ongoing training in 'Best Practices' for individuals with disabilities, as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.
- Dedicated attitude to provide support to people with disabilities.
- Flexibility, teamwork mentality, and reliability.
Preferred

What Will You Do in This Role?
As a Certified Nursing Assistant | CNA, you will be responsible for delivering and assisting resident with daily needs, including personal care needs, preparation for activity and social programs, and routine activities in accordance with accepted standards of practice, state and federal regulations and licensing requirements. You will provide basic nursing care to residents within the scope of the nursing assistant responsibilities and performs basic nursing procedures under the direction of the licensed nurse supervisor.
