Director of Development


CCARC was originally founded in 1952 by a group of parents who gathered in their homes to support one another as

they faced the challenges and rewards of raising a child with Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities.

Today, CCARC is a private, nonprofit (501c3) organization offering an array of services to support adults with intellectual

disabilities and their families.

Key responsibilities as follows


Development

  • Coordinates and manages all aspects and oversight of donor development, cultivation, and engagement
  • Uses data to establish metrics and quantitative insights on donor trends and forecasts Develops and maintains a prospect portfolio to optimize fundraising opportunities
  • Evaluates processes and procedures and creates efficiencies to achieve and drive results
  • Provides regular status reports and projections to the CEO
  • Collaborates with and provides guidance to other departments within the organization
  • Creates and manages projects on limited resources and within budget
  • Implements and manages the Constituent Relationship Management software (Raiser’s Edge), ensure accurate and comprehensive data input and analysis, utilize data for donor cultivation, foundation and funders reporting
  • Establishes protocols to maintain donor confidentiality and data integrity
  • Presents development, fundraising and marketing efforts and performance to the Board of Directors and Foundation Board of Directors
  • Oversees all components of Development and Fundraising and related activities
  • Develops and executes the annual fundraising plan in collaboration with staff and related committees Donor Cultivation and Engagement
  • Monitors and examines current donor engagement and patterns for trends and growth opportunities
  • Engages and cultivates current donor relationships
  • Examines current and changing member demographics and creates strategy for engagement and cultivation
  • Identifies new engagement opportunities to build donor pipeline
  • Provides content for communications and social media in collaboration with Manager of Communications

Events

  • Develops and implements annual fundraising events including sponsorship programs, logos, invitations, programs, entertainment, and overall theme/message to promote the work of CCARC and raise funds through sponsorships, raffle, auctions, and ticket sales
  • Coordinates annual fundraising and special event activities, including annual golf tournament
  • Secures financial support from individuals and foundations
  • Represents CCARC at events

Grant Writing and Administration

  • Meets with respective staff to identify service area needs and submit federal, state, and private grant proposals to the appropriate funding sources
  • Researches and writes grant submissions and monitors awarded grants; submits grant reports to funders as required

Leadership and Staff Development.

  • Supervises the Manager of Marketing and Communications
  • Provides periodically and annual review of direct report(s)

Volunteer Management

  • Coordinates and manages volunteer groups to provide an enriching experience while accomplishing projects benefiting CCARC and the individuals served (i.e., United Way Year of Caring)

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Effective writing skills for grant writing and general agency correspondence.
  • Excellent public relations skills that will positively present the agency.
  • Must complete the Agency's Employee Training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting to at least ten lbs.
  • Vision must be good or corrected to normal to perform normal job duties.
  • Hearing must be good to have the ability to understand information to perform job duties.
  • Ability to read and write in English in order to process paperwork and follow up on any actions necessary.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time and complete repetitive tasks like answering phones and typing.
