Responsibilities

  • Utilize critical care medicine protocols
  • Assist with running protocols
  • Assist providers with intubation, central line insertions, a-line insertions, chest tube insertions
  • Take care of patients with COVID, multi-system organ failure, sepsis, cardiac, respiratory failure, COPD, PNA, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, ETOH withdrawal, CVA, tPA for NIHSS <6, CRRT, IABP, target temperature management, invasive and non-invasive cardiac output monitoring, EKOS
  • Take pediatric patients but it's very rare

  • BLS certification

Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - ICU

Shift: Nights, 6:45p-7:15a, 12x3, 36 hrs per week

Length: 13 weeks

2 weekends per 6 week schedule.

Requirements:

  • NC License
  • 2 Years’ Experience
  • Skills: CRRT, Vents, IV Start, Triage, PA Lines, Telemetry, Conscious Sedation and EKOS.
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • PALS, CCRN and TNCC preferred

JOB DETAILS:

**Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays!
Shift: 12 HOUR NIGHTS; 18:45-7:15

Float Requirement: Will be required to float to our Intermediate Stepdown, Cardiac Telemetry, and Medical units.

PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Unit does take COVID patients. Multi-system organ failure, sepsis, cardiac, respiratory failure-hypoxia, COPD, PNA, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, ETOH withdrawal, CVA, tPA for NIHSS <6, CRRT, IABP, target temperature management, invasive and non-invasive cardiac output monitoring, EKOS, can take pediatrics patients but it's very rare

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Utilize algorithm based critical care medicine protocols-a nurse on the unit that has received the education would assist them with running the protocols, assist providers with intubation, central line insertions, a-line insertions, chest tube insertions. 20 beds are split into 2 physical locations. 1 unit has 12 beds and the other has 8 beds.
***MUST have a 3 or 4 in CRRT

UNIT SYSTEMS: PYXIS/ EPIC/ SBAR.

UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hours; **Hospital Orientation: Travelers must be available everyday of week 1 for orientation

Scrubs: navy and/or white.

Pay rate is estimated based on weekly gross income.

Weekly gross pay based on qualifications and experience. Rate applies to travel positions only (50+ miles from permanent address).
