The Clinical Educator at PIH Health is responsible for developing and implementing education plans for the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) and the Acute Rehabilitation Center (ARC). Qualifications

Required

  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Proficient communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Clinical competence.
  • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate educational programs and processes.
  • Detail oriented and able to operate independently.
  • Proficient in delivering effective and dynamic education to patients and staff.
  • Ability to assess patient/staff learning needs and recommend programs to meet those needs.
  • Works independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and objectives.
  • Ability to demonstrate teaching/learning strategies.
  • Principles of patient/family teaching.
  • Current California RN license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • BSN or currently enrolled in BSN program.
  • Two years’ clinical experience in an acute care or post-acute care facility.
  • Director of Staff Development certification (DSD) with 6 months of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support Card.

Preferred

  • MSN Degree.
  • Prior experience in long term care setting.
  • Knowledge of Title XXII and Medicare regulations.
  • Knowledge/experience in adult teaching methods.
