This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.What we do:The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for working multi-functionally to provide conceptual, preliminary, detail, assembly, and installation design. This position requires a highly skilled professional with experience in aviation structures design. You will be on the ground floor helping to design and build prototype and production aircraft. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with experience in drafting practices and 3D CAD solid modeling.What you can do:Translate preliminary and detail requirements into design layouts and fully realized engineering solutionsPerform airframe design studies, conceptual design layouts, and release details and assemblies for primary and secondary structureCreate 3D models of detail parts and assemblies for prototype and production aircraftWork design solutions from concept through to engineering releaseResearch new materials application and processesAssist in developing standard methodologies for airframe designEnsure all systems interface requirements are metWork collaboratively in a dynamic team environment with all levels of the R&D teamOther duties as assignedWhat you can contribute:Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing engineering or another related field requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience in airframe designExperience with conceptual aircraft developmentExperience in airframe design, liaison, and manufacturingExperience in composites structures design and fabricationExperience using CAD software (Catia, UG, Pro-E, Solidworks)Experience with Additive ManufacturingExperience with 3D PrintingExpertise in Geometric Dimensioning and TolerancingExperience with prototyping and productionPreferred experience with FAA certification processExperience with Rotorcraft design/industryYou may also be able to contribute:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsProactive delivery of communication and follow upExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraintsSelf-motivated and forward-thinkingProficiency with MS Office SuiteBase pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
