The Structures Design Engineer at Supernal is responsible for providing conceptual, preliminary, detail, assembly, and installation design for aviation structures. Responsibilities

  • Translate preliminary and detail requirements into design layouts and fully realized engineering solutions
  • Perform airframe design studies, conceptual design layouts, and release details and assemblies for primary and secondary structure
  • Create 3D models of detail parts and assemblies for prototype and production aircraft
  • Work design solutions from concept through to engineering release
  • Research new materials application and processes
  • Assist in developing standard methodologies for airframe design
  • Ensure all systems interface requirements are met
  • Work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment with all levels of the R&D team

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing engineering or another related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in airframe design
  • Experience with conceptual aircraft development
  • Experience in airframe design, liaison, and manufacturing
  • Experience in composites structures design and fabrication
  • Experience using CAD software (Catia, UG, Pro-E, Solidworks)
  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing
  • Experience with 3D Printing
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Experience with prototyping and production

Preferred

  • Experience with FAA certification process
  • Experience with Rotorcraft design/industry
