Field Service Technician

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join our team in the Higher Education industry based in Columbia, South Carolina. As a Field Service Technician, you will be primarily responsible for a variety of telephony tasks, managing both new and old equipment, and providing professional service to end users.

Responsibilities:

- Handling the telephony aspect of field services including managing new phone installations and moving digital dial tones.

- Repairing phone cards and replacing jacks when needed.

- Delivering phones and working directly with end users to ensure smooth operation.

- Managing a mix of old and new equipment, ensuring all are in optimal working condition.

- Handling IP telephony systems and managing backup technologies.

- Working with end users to fix phone issues and replace necessary parts.

- Ensuring the professional delivery of all services.

- Utilizing computer hardware skills to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.

- Working with a variety of telephony systems, ensuring seamless communication.

- Maintaining the professional and efficient operation of safety services, faxing, and credit cards. Requirements - Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.

- Demonstrated proficiency in Backup Technologies.

- Solid understanding and experience with Computer Hardware.

- Practical knowledge of IP Telephony is essential.

- Experience in working with Telephony System.

- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.

- Experience in producing timely and detailed service reports.

- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.

- Familiarity with mobile tools and applications.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.

- Proven field service experience.

- Ability to work well in teams.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

- Must be able to travel to different locations as per job requirements.

- Valid driver's license.
