Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician (3rd shift)

Location: Cicero, IL (onsite)

Pay: $30-$38 per hour

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician (3rd shift) to support our Cicero, IL facility. In this role, you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools, fit and assemble parts to fabricate or repair machine tools, and maintain industrial machinery. You will also be responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Pay ranges from $30 to $38 per hour.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
• Test malfunctioning machinery and consult with other maintenance staff to diagnose issues.
• Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and link cables and wires between devices.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on metal stock surfaces.
• Dismantle machinery or equipment to examine parts for defects or to remove defective components.
• Replace defective parts with new ones or fabricate replacements from various types of metal stock.
• Assemble and test machinery to verify corrections.
• Maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment.
• Replace faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.
• Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronics, such as printed circuit boards.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED; plus one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is desirable.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Proficient in using a tape measure and a computer.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
• Strong communication skills to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Ability to solve problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
