Required

  • High School Diploma.
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years' experience in healthcare or related field.
  • Computer skills preferred.

Overview: Life Engagement Partner RiverWoods is currently hiring for a per diem Activities Assistant, what we call a Life Engagement Partner. You will join our Heathcare team and work with our residents towards leading a more active lifestyle and engage in programs and fun here at our campus. This is an as needed position with work scheduled on week days as well as some weekends. We are looking for team members who will bring their best selves and specialty skills to our organization. This position will connect with individual residents and share enriching experiences to promote purpose and meaning in their lives. A positive attitude, flexibility, and commitment to teamwork are essential while meeting the needs of residents, staff, and visitors. Someone with skills in art, music, relaxation yoga and exercise is a plus. Computer skills also preferred. The ideal candidate will have a desire to work with older adults, especially those with greater cognitive and physical support needs.

  • Provides quality customer service with a positive attitude and commitment to teamwork while meeting the needs of residents, staff and visitors. Supports all aspects of the RiverWoods community.
  • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities program of the facility. Implement activity procedures as directed by the Life Engagement Manager by creating decorations, setting up necessary equipment and crafts, escorting residents to and from activity areas, and awarding prizes, assist in scheduling residents for activities, supervise activities as necessary.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities, promote conversations with residents on a regular basis, routinely visit residents, conduct individual and/or group activities to encourage purpose and meaning in the lives of the residents.
  • Participate in a quality assurance program for the activity department, as requested; participate in facility surveys (inspections) conducted by authorized government agencies as necessary.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required. Continued education in related field preferred but not required

Preferred minimum of 2 years' experience in healthcare or related field
