We are seeking a competent CNC Operator to safely and accurately use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery to perform a variety of functions. The role involves preparing and operating CNC machines, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, loading materials onto machines, ensuring quality control, and maintaining machinery. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled, responsible, and have a keen eye for detail and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, routing, etc.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and program codes to ensure specifications are met.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
  • Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts.
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make necessary adjustments for better results.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed correctly.
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality and routine maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot machine performance and identify and resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to optimize production quality and efficiency.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain clean, organized workspaces to minimize risk and maximize productivity.
  • Troubleshoot machine performance and identify and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and recommendations.
  • Maintain machine logs and records to track production output and identify trends or areas for improvement.
  • Continuously update and improve technical knowledge and skills related to CNC machines and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven experience as a CNC operator.
  • Experience with Laguna CNC Smartshop M Router and VCarve Pro is a plus.
  • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Computer savvy with a basic computer programming and CAD/CAM understanding.
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
  • Good communication abilities.
  • Interest and willingness to participate in 3D printing- concrete, plastic.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, as well as a certificate or diploma in engineering or a relevant discipline, is a plus. Preference is given to those who have completed an accredited apprenticeship program.
