The Sales Application Engineer will develop sales proposals based on specifications, drawings, and customer requirements for electrical switchgear and controls.   • Interprets applicable codes and regulations, assures compliance with National Electric Code, API, NFPA, IEEE, Environmental regulations, OSHA, and any other local codes or regulations.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and customer requirements for electrical switchgear and controls.
  • Prepare scope of project work, cost estimates, engineering economics, and interfaces with clients.
  • Oversee the preparation of engineering submittal packages including bills of material, submittal drawings, and equipment specifications and cutsheets.
  • Develop and maintain standard costing models and work with operations team to ensure their accuracy.
  • Prepare sales proposals including pricing, equipment descriptions, bills of material, equipment dimensions, and one line or control diagrams.
  • Uses project management tools including Gantt charts, site view cost tracking, and schedule development in coordination with operations team to estimate equipment schedules during the proposal phase.
  • Support field installations including develop plans for equipment commissioning, inspection, preventative maintenance, instrumentation calibration, loop checks, programming verification, and emergency shutdown verification.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively negotiate and resolve disputes with a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
  • Ensure orderly and complete hand-off between sales and operations.
  • Ability to perform self-directed work, maintain schedules, and meet deadlines.

The Sales Applications Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the manufacturability of the design and compliance with required standards and specifications.
