The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and upkeep of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production equipment. Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas, including routine sweeping and tidying up.
  • Ensure all equipment lubrication is performed as per the maintenance schedule.
  • Conduct visual and auditory inspections of machinery to identify and diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Measure and assess parts for signs of wear, misalignment, or other mechanical problems.
  • Replace worn or defective components in drive mechanisms or hydraulic systems.
  • Realign and adjust mechanical components such as spindles and clutches to ensure proper functioning.
  • Identify and repair damaged air and hydraulic lines on machinery, including the installation of new piping as needed.
  • Test equipment post-repair to verify successful maintenance and proper operation.
  • Repair broken machine parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, demonstrating proficiency in diagnosing and fixing problems.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to assist in repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Support production line changes and product changeovers (PCOs).
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the equipment's transfer systems and operational procedures.
  • Participate in start-up operations, ensuring all necessary procedures are followed.
  • Possess general knowledge of the electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems involved in equipment operations.
  • Set up and operate various types of equipment including blow molding machines, case palletizers, bottle testers, case formers, conveyors, packers, stretch wrappers, and bulk palletizers.

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and fix equipment issues.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of production equipment and willingness to learn new systems.
