Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the pre-construction team, including owners, architects, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors, to address constructability and value engineering concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with the owner’s contract and manage the development of the master project schedule and quality control program.
  • Identify critical issues and milestones and work with the Preconstruction Department to review budgets and project scopes.
  • Manage project budgets, forecast potential additional costs, and ensure safety is integrated into job planning and execution.
  • Prepare and manage GMP or Lump Sum Contracts, subcontract, and owner change orders, and monthly owner requisitions.
  • Evaluate the financial capability of subcontractors and ensure all contractual requirements are met before mobilization.
  • Conduct regular reviews of job cost reports and develop Look-Ahead Schedules.
  • Lead the company’s quality control program on the project to meet client satisfaction and company standards for safety, quality, and profitability.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in construction, design, finance, and management, with a focus on large-scale hospital projects.
  • Proficiency in electrical systems with hands-on experience managing change orders and project cost estimation.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Word, Excel, AIA Contract Documents).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, coupled with in-depth expertise in safety protocols, project scheduling, cost management, quality assurance, and interpreting engineering drawings.

Our client, a leading electrical contracting firm with a history of delivering complex and innovative electrical systems across various industries, is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to join their team.


The Senior Construction Project Manager should possess extensive hospital construction experience to lead two major hospital projects, with construction phases beginning by the end of 2024 and early 2025. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, change orders, and project estimation. This role will report directly to the Branch Manager and will require initial collaboration with the central estimating group.
