  • Experience with statistical analysis and data processing.
  • Practical knowledge of budgeting, cash-flow regulation, and maintaining balance sheets.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Good data analysis, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership qualities.
  • Up to date knowledge on FDA, USDA, SQF, CFIA, CODEX, and local guidelines.

About us:

For the past 30 years, Pacific Choice Brands has specialized in contract food manufacturing for acidified shelf stable retail and food service products packaged in glass, plastic, pouches, pails, and drums. Located in Fresno, California. We pride ourselves on producing the highest quality specialty foods, including taco barbeque sauces, garlic, sun dried tomatoes as well as other condiments and ethnic items that meet the needs of our expanding world market.

Summary:


Candidate must have a solid understanding of Fresh/Shelf Stable Salsas, Sauces or other similar products. A good match would be someone working in soups, chunky salsas, or tomato based formulated products like pasta sauce, chili sauce, cocktail sauce. They don’t necessarily have to be hot-fill-hold, although that would be ideal, as long as they involve batching formulations similar to our facility rather than liquids like juices.


The Operations Manager will report to the Vice President/CFO and will form a vital part of the management system. This position oversees operational activities at every level and is responsible for the performance and efficiencies of Supply Chain, Engineering, R&D, Quality Control and Production processes. Helps set and meet daily and quarterly goals. Plays a significant role in long term planning, project status reporting, and implementing change control processes, inspires leadership of the organization and maintains good quality standards for the products, productivity and efficiency of the organization.


Responsibilities:


The specific duties of the Operations Manager include formulating strategy, improving performance, procuring material and resources and securing compliance. Mentor team members, find ways to increase quality of customer service and implement best practices across all levels. Ultimately, trusted to help the Company remain compliant, efficient and profitable during the course of business.


Experience Requirements:


· Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred) in Operations Management, Engineering or related field.

  • 10 years of progressive leadership, knowledge and experience with key manufacturing processes, best practices, and implementing process improvements to meet the changing business needs while driving strategy and execution within the consumer goods industry.

· Wastewater experience.

· ERP/Redzone/NetSuite preferred.

· This position will have extensive knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management, ensuring all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way, improving operational management systems, processes and best practices, and helping the organization’s processes remain legally and customer compliant.

· Must have familiarity with the operational concepts, practices and procedures. Extensive training in conflict management, business negotiation and essential business applications.

· Experience with statistical analysis and data processing.

· Practical knowledge of budgeting, cash-flow regulation, maintaining balance sheets and monitoring the profit and loss statements.

· Ability to create an effective plan and determination to accomplish goals.

· Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

· Good data analysis, planning and organizational skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:


· Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.

· Regularly required to talk and hear.

· Must have good vision and manual dexterity.

· Ability to walk and climb stairs.

· Exposure to approx. 85-decibel sound while on the plant floor (appropriate ear protection will be provided)

· Exposure to cold temperatures while on the production floor and in other parts of the building

· Company-provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) must be worn while on the production floor

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

  • Adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Plant equipment noise is elevated requiring the use of hearing protection and seasonal temperatures can be expected.
