Responsibilities

  • Participate in Safety activities such as monthly inspections, updates safety boards, conducts daily toolbox talks, etc. as per company specific policies.
  • Work in a team environment to oversee the manufacture and refurbish process for Clean Harbors and Safety-Kleen Organization.
  • Ensure accurate record time, part allocation, and inspection checklists electronically.
  • Move company equipment safely in the yard and shop as needed.
  • Ensure the shop area is kept clean, tidy, and free of hazards as per management expectations, reporting all hazards and near misses as appropriate.
  • Oversees the assembly, rebuilding, painting, and manufacturing of equipment/vehicles such as PTO's and Vacuum Pumps, Hydraulic Systems and Electrical Systems.
  • Reviews time and materials entered in an electronic work order system.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance personnel, and any registered apprentices in the shop, as required.
  • Monitor employee development and conduct performance reviews.
  • Timely and accurate completion of all required paperwork such as electronic Repair Orders, Inspections, and Inventory Cycle Counts.
  • Ensure repair times are met and assets are manufactured within scheduled timelines.
  • QA/QCs will be performed on repairs completed in assigned workshop.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3-5 years' experience supervising a team of employees working in a Tank Truck, Heavy Equipment or Truck Fleet shop environment.
  • Previous experience with HM183 Cargo Tank Inspections, production line and or assembly, plant experience is a plus.
  • Previous equipment/vehicle refurbishment, and/or hydraulic/electric experience is an asset.
  • Possess strong computer skills and ability to use web-based software and vehicle diagnostic systems.
  • Valid driver's license.

Clean Harbors **Kingston, MA** Refurbishment Shop is looking for a **Shop Manager** to add to a 7 -bay state of the art facility. As a **Shop Manage** r, you will be supervising a team of mechanics, welders and painters that are responsible for the general production of the truck refurbishment facility. This includes vehicle upfitting, custom fabrication, component installation, safety, painting, inventory management, employee supervision / mentorship, record keeping, and updating of computer systems regularly.
