The Senior Financial Analyst at the University of Rochester is responsible for devising methods for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting both financial and clinical data, preparing reports for various teams and administration, and performing complex Financial Planning and Analysis studies. Responsibilities

  • Write or assist in writing procedures that control reporting needs and processes.
  • Integrate visual analytics into reporting to enhance customer ease of use and understanding of the data.
  • Work in collaboration with individual customers to teach them how to use the reporting platform, interpret and use the data in the report, and make customizations to the report based on individual reporting requirements.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish customer requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Work with Senior Leadership, Department Chairs, the Director's Office, and front line managers to determine and interpret needs for new ongoing reports, ad hoc reports, and report enhancements.
  • Design and build reports, including data visualizations, using complex logic and multiple data sources.
  • Thoroughly test reports, and obtain user validation.
  • Work with Enterprise Business Intelligence System Administration in supporting the data management processes ensuring that all feeds are fed properly, audited and integrated into the data bases efficiently and timely.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise BI Analytics team and URMC Finance Teams in further defining and analyzing revenue and/or costing modeling.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Analytics, Business, Accounting, Finance and 4-5 years of experience in the analysis and dissemination of information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, written and oral.
  • Experience working in healthcare analytics, utilizing advanced Excel, SQL, and/or Tableau is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Devises methods for gathering information, analyzing and interpreting both financial and clinical data; prepares reports for or in support of URMC Finance Teams, Clinical Program Management, and URMC Administration. Performs complex Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) studies as requested.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES** **:**

+ Under the direction of the Enterprise Business Intelligence Manager, prepare and present executive summaries and detailed reporting and analysis to Senior Leadership, Department Chairs, and front line managers to: explain findings, limitations of information, and recommendations based upon actionable insight.

**Pay Range**

Pay Range: $70,197 - $105,295 Annually

_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
