- Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
- Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
- Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. Must be eligible for registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy and register within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to communicate with other caregivers and patients in an effective and positive manner.
- Demonstration of emotional control and intelligence in managing work relationships.
- Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds.
Preferred
- Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). CPhT through the PTCB is required within 18 months of hire.
- Six months of hospital experience.

As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital link in moving medications throughout the facility to enhance patient care. **A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 6:30AM - 10:00PM.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
