The Community Resource Specialist at Partnership for Children of Essex is responsible for providing support in employee engagement regarding community resources and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) providers, maintaining a directory of active MOU providers, leading internal provider events, assisting in identifying service gaps, facilitating workshops, leading internal marketing and communication efforts, and participating in external events. Responsibilities

  • Provide support in the areas of employee engagement regarding community resources and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) providers.
  • Maintain directory of active MOU providers for staff use.
  • Lead internal provider events such as lunch & learns, resource fairs, providers attending team meetings etc.
  • Assist in identifying gaps in service and obtain feedback by attending Care Management team meetings and reporting outcomes to Community Resource Manager.
  • Work with the Training Department in facilitating workshops focused on teaching PCE staff how to find resources and providers, and how to communicate and work with our MOU providers and external partners.
  • Lead internal marketing and communication about including Community Resource Department (CRD) biweekly newsletter email, maintaining resources bulletin board, calendar invitations, other miscellaneous communications and reminders.
  • Participate in the Get Connected Committee.
  • Participate and support in external events, as needed.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties, as assigned by supervisor or higher-level management personnel.

Qualifications

Required

  • Embrace the mission, philosophy, and values of the Partnership for Children of Essex.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., social work, counseling, psychology, special education, criminal justice) with a minimum of one-year relevant work experience.
  • Experience in community relations and proficient in public speaking.
  • Knowledge of Essex County community and services, and New Jersey child-serving systems.
  • Must present a positive and professional image.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Web enabled applications.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Exhibit excellent work ethic and commitment to job responsibilities.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, Portuguese and/or Creole.

Travel:

  • Travel within Essex County is expected. Travel may also extend to other parts of the state on occasion.
