The Occupational/Employee Health Nurse at UNC Rex Healthcare is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for patients, self, and others by overseeing daily clinical, clerical, and administrative Occupational Health Services (OHS) functions.   • Consistently and effectively coordinates the daily operations of occupational health programs & services for area of responsibility/operating unit.
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to foster the provision of effective health, safety and environmental services.
  • Demonstrates an ethical decision making framework in all activities.
  • Promotes OHS mission and values and fosters community integration through personal and professional relationships.
  • Ensures development and maintenance of confidential health records.
  • Effectively coordinates provisions for employee compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrates clinical nursing expertise and professional competency through the planning, implementation and management of programs that support the health, safety and well-being of clients.
  • Demonstrates expertise with provisions of the NC Workers' Compensation Act and serves as a case coordinator for all claims at operating unit.
  • Processes all client logs and associated documents in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with insurance, legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Two years of hands-on clinical nursing experience.
  • Knowledge in epidemiology/infection control, toxicology, industrial and environmental hygiene
