Insight Global is seeking a Secret cleared Datacom Database Administrator to support a newly awarded Federal program. Responsibilities
- Take lead during incidents and drive incident management effort to restore service and lead postmortem discussions and actions.
- Support the career growth of junior members by providing technical guidance & mentoring.
- Participate in Production on call support (24x7).
- Utilize Agile Framework to manage tasks and your workload
- Maintain Datacom object definitions including adding, changing, updating, and retiring objects: Database, Areas, Tables, Keys, and Elements.
- DataDictionary maintenance via online (DDOL) and/or batch.
- DataDictionary Utilities, DDBTGLM, DDUPDATE, DDRMFLM, and VLS files.
- Understand the LXX, the active log and the RXX the archive log and how to use them for forward and backward recovery.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years in Datacom Technology performing Datacom DBA and/or Database Engineering duties.
- Knowledge of Mainframe internals like SMP/E, TSO/E, ISPF/PDF, JCL, z/OS Utilities, etc.
- Understanding of Copybooks and how they can be defined and used in a COBOL environment.
- Understanding of Datacom Accounting tables and how to review data to assist programmers with tuning programs or problem solving.
- Working knowledge of JCL to run batch jobs, allocate and manage Datacom datasets, output files, etc.
