The Maintenance Manager at The McAlear Group is responsible for overseeing all maintenance-related functions, including machinery maintenance, installation, and repair activities. Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance personnel by setting direction, priorities, and goals.
  • Oversee the training, coaching, and continuous development of all maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained to operate safely and in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance procedures.
  • Schedule, perform, and oversee preventative maintenance and repair activities for all production machinery assets by utilizing CMMS software.
  • Ensure production equipment is maintained to operate at peak efficiency with minimal downtime.
  • Oversee, manage, and assist with new equipment installation.
  • Develop and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Monitor the procurement of maintenance related materials, components, and services.
  • Approval of time off requests as well as weekly timesheets.
  • Monthly expense reports for company credit card.
  • Manage forklift fleet repairs and PM’s.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in engineering or industrial technologies
  • Five plus years of maintenance experience
  • Three plus years of supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or facility management

Full Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all maintenance-related functions for the McAlear Group. This position will maintain machinery, plan, and execute installation and repair activities, develop maintenance procedures, and lead a diverse, multi-functional team.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage maintenance personnel by setting direction, priorities, and goals.

  • Ensure maintenance personnel adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained to operate safely and in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance procedures.
  • Schedule, perform, and oversee preventative maintenance and repair activities for all production machinery assets by utilizing CMMS software.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Assist with facility and utility maintenance functions.
  • Oversee external contractors.
  • Assist quality team with testing and process error prevention.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent twisting, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, climbing, standing within an 8-hour work period
  • Physical ability to do work that requires repetitive lifting/pulling/carrying weights ranging from 1 to 50 lbs. and anything over with assistance
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below waist on a frequent basis.
  • Must possess vision to read printed materials and computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the phone.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.


COMPENTENCY, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proven track record of good attendance, reliability and have a positive attitude.
  • Possess strong leadership skills and abilities to confidently lead a diverse, multifunctional team.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of MS Office, and CMMS software.
  • Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems up to 480VAC three phase
  • Experienced in mechanical machine repair including but not limited to conveyor systems, gear boxes, bearings, guarding, etc.
  • Experience in troubleshooting basic hydraulics, pneumatics, safety devices, electrical controls.
  • Understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance procedures and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret machine prints, diagrams, and sketches.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

  • Associate degree in engineering or industrial technologies
  • Five plus years of maintenance experience
  • Three plus years of supervisory experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or facility management
