The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility's structure, equipment, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. This role involves supporting large electrical and HVAC projects, interacting with management on facilities-related projects, performing trades work, and assisting with Environmental, Health & Safety programs and projects. The position requires a high school diploma with 1-2 years of facilities maintenance experience, safety training, and HVAC troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility's structure, equipment, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Support large electrical and HVAC projects, to include working with subcontractors to acquire project cost and scheduling.
  • Interact with management daily on facilities related projects.
  • Performs trades work, such as carpentry, painting, repair or alteration of structures such as walls or office fixtures.
  • Make periodic or special inspections of the premises to determine repair work necessary. Requires knowledge of applicable OSHA and local standards and regulations.
  • Must be available for rotational off hours on call.
  • Assist with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and projects.
  • Assist in safety inspections, accident investigation, job safety assessments, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), scheduling training, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma with 1-2 years of facilities maintenance experience
  • Ideally safety training, job safety assessments (JSA) or regulatory requirements
  • 1-2 years computer application experience such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Gensuite or similar safety management tool
  • 1-2 years HVAC troubleshooting experience

Preferred

  • Associates degree with 1-2+ years of facilities maintenance experience
  • Proficient in monitoring and reading building automation systems
  • Ability to understand 220-volt, 277-volt and 480-volt Electrical Systems
  • Green Sustainability project experience to include but not limited to energy reduction, waste reduction, water reduction
  • HVAC and or Electrical certification is a plus
