We are seeking a meticulous and efficient Production Manager to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia, within the CPA firm industry. The role focuses on managing client deliverables, overseeing the production of client tax returns, financial statements, and coordinating workflow in the production department. Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual engagement letter and tax organizer process, ensuring all procedures are adhered to and updated as necessary.
  • Coordinate tax season preparation, which includes researching new procedures and ensuring their implementation.
  • Oversee the collation and delivery of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all processes.
  • Manage the final production of client financial statements and other documents, ensuring they are prepared according to the firm's standards.
  • Coordinate workflow in the Production department, assigning tasks to production staff including typing, assembly, copying, scanning, and general tasks.
  • Monitor the document tracking system for timely delivery of client deliverables, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Communicate deadlines and workload conflicts to relevant personnel to ensure timely completion of work and adherence to deadlines.
  • Manage the E-filing of Tax Returns, forms W3/W2 and 1096/1099, and payroll forms VA-6, 1099s and W-2s to states, including following up to resolve rejection issues and distributing pending E-file reports.
  • Assist production staff with questions and proofread work to ensure accuracy.
  • Generate reports from various programs to track task status and distribute tax return reports for rollover and organizers to partners.
  • Assist with the recruitment process for new production staff by reviewing resumes and participating in candidate interviews.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in a CPA or Accounting Firm
  • Proven experience assembling tax returns
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
