Responsibilities

  • Drive WC and GL performance by providing a safe environment for employees and customers; addressing safety concerns proactively to mitigate loss.
  • Serve as a member of the store Safety Committee, including chairing monthly safety meetings.
  • Validate customer receipts at the door during peak sales periods or when otherwise directed.
  • Conduct proactive investigations to identify external theft trends and collaborate with the store team to prevent shoplifting/fraud efforts.
  • Utilize the CCTV system with Shrink Index reports to validate high-risk transactions.
  • Track and investigate cash shortage activity.
  • Play an active leadership role during the physical inventory process.
  • Ensure Luxury and High-End Merchandise/Electronics are priced and sold properly.
  • Periodically observe truck deliveries to ensure compliance with truck seal protocol.
  • Communicate procedural violations that impact safety, security, and shrink directly to the RAPM and Store Manager.
  • Wear the provided uniform when on shift.
  • Responsible for store scorecard including sales performance, average basket size, and BRI.
  • Facilitate new-hire orientations, teaching, and training sessions, monthly safety meetings, and weekly huddles with all cash handlers.
  • Once certified themselves, responsible for all power equipment training and certifications.

Full Job Description

Channel Control Merchants, LLC is now accepting applications for a Retail Asset Protection Leader. The ideal candidate will play an integral role in shrink reduction and profit enhancement measures throughout the store. The Retail Asset Protection Leader reports directly to the Regional APM, with dotted-line responsibility to the Store Manager.

The Retail Asset Protection Leader has a dynamic, engaging personality. You are intellectually curious and seek to learn from others. As the resident expert on asset protection and inventory shrinkage, you recognize the need to be well-rounded in retail operations, and the importance of collaboration with store management on key initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Drive WC and GL performance by providing a safe environment for our employees and customers; addressing safety concerns proactively to mitigate loss.
  • Serve as a member of the store Safety Committee which may include chairing monthly safety meetings and collaborating with management team members on safety initiatives.
  • Validate customer receipts at the door during peak sales periods or when otherwise directed.
  • Conduct proactive investigations to identify external theft trends and collaborate with the store team to prevent shoplifting/fraud efforts.
  • Utilize the CCTV system with Shrink Index reports to validate high-risk transactions, including Gold Key, Voids, and uncommonly low basket $ averages.
  • Track and investigate cash shortage activity.
  • Play an active leadership role during the physical inventory process as directed by the Store Manager and Regional AP Manager.
  • Ensure Luxury and High-End Merchandise/Electronics are priced and sold properly.
  • Periodically observe truck deliveries to ensure compliance with truck seal protocol (removed by a store employee, not the driver). Confirm the serial #matches the recorded # on BOL.
  • Communicate procedural violations that impact safety, security, and shrink directly to the RAPM and Store Manager when observed.
  • Wear the provided uniform when on shift.
  • Responsible for store scorecard to include sales performance, average basket size, and BRI.
  • Responsible for facilitating new-hire orientations, teaching, and training sessions, monthly safety meetings, and weekly huddles with all cash handlers to emphasize the importance of ringing our product correctly.
  • Once certified themselves, the APL will be responsible for all power equipment training and certifications.
