  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians (IV, SQ, Oral)
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Educate pet owners on preventive care, medication administration, and post-operative instructions
  • Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery
  • Handle and restrain animals with care and compassion
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment
  • Admitting and discharging patients

Qualifications

Required

  • Completion of a two-year or four-year American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited program from a community college, college, or university
  • Minimum two years experience working in a veterinary practice as a registered veterinary technician or experienced assistant

Preferred

Position Overview:
As a Veterinary Technician, with Carolina Animal Specialty & Emergency Hospital you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring the welfare of our patients. Utilize your expertise in animal handling, medical knowledge, and client communication to deliver outstanding care. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses a robust understanding of veterinary medicine, and is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include nursing tasks, medication administration, client education, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, laboratory duties, radiology, and anesthesia. Some emergency-care knowledge, including CPR, is essential.
