Maintenance Superintendent

Position Summary: Reporting to the General Manager, you will be instrumental in providing both operational repairs and proactive maintenance for our Planer machinery. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with a range of mechanical systems critical to our production process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair various machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
• Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability.
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to accurately assemble equipment and ensure adherence to work procedures.
• Utilize hoisting and lifting devices during the assembly, installation, and repair of machinery.
• Conduct inspections and diagnostics to detect, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical issues.
• Oversee the lubrication and general maintenance of machinery to prevent failures and extend equipment life.
• Assemble and repair large, precision heavy equipment specifically for the lumber/wood processing sector.

What You Will Bring:

• Certified Journeyman Millwright with hands-on experience in industrial settings.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience in a Planer Mill or similar heavy industry is highly desirable.
• Flexibility to work shifts as required.
• Organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
