Responsibilities
- Serve as a generalist assisting the Research Team in the due diligence of new and existing investment managers.
- Participate in all aspects of the research process, including generating quantitative scores for mutual funds and ETFs and interpreting the data based on both quantitative and qualitative factors.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and/or annual macroeconomic and fund exhibits for use internally and in client reports.
- Produce ad-hoc requests in a clear and timely fashion.
- Professionally present ideas to the Research Team and communicate the team's thoughts to financial advisors and their planning teams.
- Assist in developing a database to track the long-term quantitative scores of mutual funds.
- Manipulate large data sets and present them in a concise manner.
- Schedule meetings with mutual fund wholesalers and portfolio managers for the Research Team and/or lunch meetings for the financial advisors and planning teams.
- Document meeting notes into OneNote.
- Perform various administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university.
- Two or more years of experience in an investment manager research role.
- Strong attention to detail mindset with a focus on accuracy, initiative, and follow-through.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills, with specific focus on Excel.
- Previous experience on creating and modifying spreadsheet formulas and macros.
Preferred
- Candidates who have passed CFA Level I.
- Earning the CFA Designation is required after hiring.
