  • Maintains the grounds and other assigned areas in a safe, attractive well-kept professional manner at all times
  • Maintains a continual awareness of safety issues and follows safe work practices
  • Understand and utilize all types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred
  • At least three years of experience or training in general maintenance
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Summary

The Maintenance Worker assists the Senior Director of Properties with the safety, repair & replacement, and upkeep of property grounds, buildings, furniture & fixtures, equipment, and other physical items. Other related and some on-call duties may be assigned.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities:

Repair

  • Assist the Senior Director of Properties with general facility repair including, but not limited to general carpentry, wood-working, furniture repair, basic electrical & plumbing work, dry wall repair, etc.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of materials needed to perform job responsibilities
  • Ensure that all assigned projects are completed in a timely and thorough manner

Upkeep

  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of all agency vehicles and other motorized equipment including, but not limited to agency cars, tractors, mowers, weed-eaters, forklifts, etc.
  • Regularly service machinery and grounds equipment including major and minor repairs.
  • Maintains the grounds and other assigned areas in a safe, attractive well-kept professional manner at all times including landscaping, snow removal, and other grounds maintenance activities.

Safety

  • Maintains a continual awareness of safety issues and follows safe work practices in performance of all work activities.
  • Understand and utilize all types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties

  • There is moderate noise. The employee is exposed to extreme weather conditions, toxic fumes, and/or airborne particles.
  • The employee must occasionally travel to different locations in the course of work.
