The Preschool Teacher at Boys & Girls Club of Elgin is responsible for creating a flexible PFA program and developmentally appropriate class environment conducive to children's learning and personal growth.   • Develop parent engagement activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents.
  • Reinforce acceptable behavior and social skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address health, attitude, and learning issues.

  • Participate in curriculum development.
  • Maintain a conducive classroom environment.
  • Carry out routine duties, including supervision.
  • Assess children's development through records.
  • Manage classroom resources.

Qualifications

Required

  • Hold a current, registered Professional Educator License endorsed in Early Childhood Education or a PEL with ECE endorsement, along with one of the following endorsements: provisional educator, alternative provisional educator, resident teacher, or visiting international educator. Alternatively, hold a current ECE Gateways level 5 credential.
