Averro is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Tukwila, WA. Responsibilities

  • Understanding the mechanical design of building construction systems including building envelopes, roofing, windows, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Analyzing the effects of applied stresses on materials in mechanical and civil systems, utilizing classical and FEA analysis (though not required to perform calculations).
  • Applying knowledge of fracture mechanics and corrosion mechanisms, including coating systems and sacrificial plating, to diagnose material failures and recommend repair or maintenance solutions.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate materials expertise into overall project plans.
  • Developing and implementing materials selection criteria for new construction and renovation projects.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
  • 3+ years’ of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Plumbing design experience and knowledge of plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of booster pumps, PRV (Pressure Reducing Valves) vs. ACB (Automatic Control Valves), potable plumbing, and WDV (drain waste vent) systems.
  • CAD drafting experience.
  • Understanding of the mechanical design of building construction systems including building envelopes, roofing, windows, plumbing, and HVAC.

Preferred

  • HVAC experience

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at a leading forensics engineering firm. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in forensic and/or materials engineering or for those with a strong background in mechanical design within the construction industry who are eager to expand their expertise across the full project lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
  • 3+ years’ of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Plumbing design experience and knowledge of plumbing systems.
