We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Client's Legal Team in Skokie, IL for a 6+ month contract role. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a legal or corporate environment, possess strong organizational skills, and be able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. This role involves supporting the Legal Team, drafting and managing key legal documents, collaborating on projects, and managing communications with external legal firms and global service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our General Counsel to manage team operations, develop systems, and generate reports and templates.
  • Draft and maintain legal documents, including Letters of Intent (LOIs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs), and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), with attorney oversight.
  • Work with internal teams (science, engineering, etc.) to provide legal support on various projects.
  • Be the primary point of contact for external legal firms and global service providers, handling correspondence and compliance issues.
  • Monitor legal trends and ensure the company is up to date on relevant laws and best practices.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Acrobat, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and Zoom for managing legal documents in high-profile meetings.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of in-house legal experience.
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program.
  • Familiarity with international commerce.
