Supply Chain Specialist

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Specialist interested in supporting the development and launch of our electrical surgical system used for transseptal procedures in a fast-paced FDA regulated startup environment. This is a full time on-site position and will require reporting to our office located in Solana Beach, CA. As a critical member of the operations team, this person will manage the procurement of raw materials and supplies and facilitate the movement of our products throughout the production process.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that are aligned with the company’s objectives.
• Source raw materials, capital equipment, and services, while managing supplier relationships.
• Work directly with suppliers for order confirmation and tracking. Expedite materials as needed and identify (and plan for) long lead time items for timely delivery.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery terms, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and cost savings.
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, and support.
• Manage the procurement of office supplies, warehouse supplies, computer supplies, cleaning supplies, and other miscellaneous items as requested.
• Interface with Accounts Payable to reconcile invoices, receipts, and purchase orders.
• Partner with Suppliers, Quality, and Engineering to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree required preferably in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related manufacturing field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with at least 1 year of experience in supply chain.
• Preferred: Experience in a regulated industry such as medical device, aerospace, pharmaceutical, military procurement, etc.

Skills & Experience

• Proven track record in procurement and supply chain management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to understand bills of materials and read product drawings and parts specifications.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and other Microsoft programs.
