Shoup Legal is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Probate and Trust Administration Paralegal to join their team in Murrieta, California. Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of probate and estate administration, including drafting legal documents, preparing court filings, and managing case files
  • Communicate with clients, probate courts, and other parties involved in the probate proceedings
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to probate matters
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of case information and deadlines
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing attorney calendars
  • Draft Inventory and Appraisals, Accountings and other necessary documents for review by Probate Examiner and submission to Probate Courts
  • Communicate with clients on a regular basis throughout the representation with updates
  • Assist attorneys in preparing cases for hearings
  • Maintain case management database
  • Daily accurate entry into the Case Management System with no more than 15% of total time allocated to administrative work

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm, focus on probate and estate administration is preferred
  • Ability to reliably commute to the Murrieta, CA office required
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
  • A fundamental understanding of estate planning/administration concepts OR related experience is a bonus
  • Possess strong multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Be willing to perform administrative tasks as needed
  • Superb communication, organizational an interpersonal skills
  • Be a self-starter who is also detail oriented
  • Display a positive attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases
  • Have excellent spelling, typing and grammar skills
  • Ability to type between 40-50 words per minute
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate a high degree of discretion, confidentiality and integrity in the handling of personal client information
