The Systems Engineer / Administrator at Kore 1 is responsible for managing and troubleshooting large complex systems, including servers, storage arrays, and their physical and logical components. This role involves ensuring the reliable and secure performance of the enterprise, managing all related infrastructure, and being an integral part in the day-to-day operations and planning for the future of IT infrastructure. The position requires a broad knowledge of server and endpoint configuration and administration, with a focus on Microsoft 365, Windows Server, virtualized servers, EntraID/AD, SCCM, and MDM.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot complex Windows Server environments including virtualization technology such as Hyper-V, Failover Clustering, System Center Operations Manager and Virtual Machine Manager.
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot storage solutions (HPE Nimble).
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Monitor daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Assist in migration production loads into Azure.
  • Manage existing MECM/SCCM deployment.
  • Create and manage application deployment objects for new and existing software.
  • Implement and manage Intune for MDM (iOS and Android).
  • Implement and manage patching processes for Microsoft and third-party software.
  • Support existing Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services and Azure Active Directory /EntraID deployment.
  • Provision and maintain remote services such as Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
  • Manage access controls, permissions, and DFSR health on file servers.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services and applications.
  • Scripting and automation of common tasks leveraging PowerShell and related tools.
  • Interface with the Systems Administrators/Helpdesk Technicians and provide Level 2 Support.
  • Maintain ongoing communications with support teams regarding application issue resolution and general workstation management support.
  • Assure ITIL compliance including inventories, documentation and change management processes.
  • Document and improve internal procedures.
  • Resolve desktop, printer, network, server, and application issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage manufacturing technologies such as wireless barcode scanners and label printers.
  • Assist with onboarding of new users.

The Systems Engineer / Administrator / Endpoint Admin is part of the System Administrator / Engineering team and is responsible for managing and troubleshoot large complex systems consisting of a combination that may include servers, storage arrays, and the physical and logical components that integrate these systems together. In this function, he / she is responsible for reliable and secure performance of the enterprise. The Systems Admin / Engineer demonstrates sound understanding of vendor specific best practices to manage and monitor a secure computing environment, while meeting or exceeding service levels or designed performance metrics. The Systems Admin / Engineer manages all related infrastructure including datacenters, servers, storage arrays, backup, and business applications in physical or virtual form, for both on-prem or cloud solutions.

Reporting to the Sr. IT Infrastructure Manager, this candidate will need to have a broad knowledge of server and endpoint configuration and administration, and the ability to quickly learn new and unfamiliar technologies. This position will be an integral part in the day-to-day operations and planning for the future of our IT infrastructure.

INITIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
