LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Field Service Engineer for a state-of-the-art technology organization in the East Haven, CT area. This role involves high travel (up to 60%) and is responsible for the integration, assembly, test, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial x-ray systems, as well as providing remote technical support. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in assembly and wiring of electrical controls and safety circuitry, be comfortable in a direct customer interfacing role, and have experience in utilizing and assisting in debugging of PLC based control programs.

Responsibilities

  • Fabrication and assembly of electrical control and safety circuits for new equipment and systems including from panel building to final wiring, startup, and testing.
  • Wiring of custom systems to include electrical panel building, machine wiring, pulling wire, terminating, bending conduit, wiring motors and system startup and testing.
  • Collaborate with the preparation and debugging of PLC or PC based control programs.
  • Perform tasks in accordance and compliance with US and European and potentially standards of customer’s home country.
  • Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot/repair, and/or test systems (Approx. 60% domestic travel)
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned including but not limited to clean-up, department organization, material movement, and forklift operation.
  • Collaborate and provide mechanical system integration and assembly support.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Electrical concentration.
  • Minimum 3 years of directly related hands-on experience in a field service role as well as 2 years within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in cutting, stripping, tinning, and crimping cable and harness.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation in AutoCAD.
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Must be willing and able to successfully pass a complete background check and drug test.
  • Must be available and willing to work extended hours and weekends.
  • Prior experience working with BOMS and or computerized MRP or ERP systems preferably MS Dynamics.
  • Prior experience and understanding of motion control design, PLC / PC programming and distributed control theory.
  • Working knowledge and experience with ISO and/or NQA-1 quality standards and procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience in utilizing and assistance in debugging of PLC based control programs.
  • Experience in utilizing/working on imaging equipment and robotics.
