Qualifications

Required

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP or equivalent certifications or equivalent demonstrable knowledge
  • 6+ years of experience in related fields
  • Experience with commodity network hardware and operating systems including Aruba, Arista, Juniper, and Cisco
  • Experience with network command lines and APIs
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Linux networking
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP and UDP/IP, including both IPv4 and IPv6
  • Understanding of routing and routing ACLs
  • Understanding of VLAN, PVLAN, and spanning tree
  • Deep understanding of traditional network services like DHCP, DNS, including equivalents in IPv6
  • Ability to write scripts using Python or Bash
  • Ability to use Git for software version control
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Experience as a software developer writing Python programs
  • Experience writing automated tests for new code or based on bugfixes
  • Previous experience with high speed networking like Infiniband or Slingshot

The role will involve a mix of bare-metal systems and public cloud deployments. The role will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, upgrade, security, performance, reliability, and scaling of networking and network services for the management of HPC systems.The ideal candidate for this position will enjoy the challenges of networking on commodity network hardware, on servers running Linux, and providing traditional network services. You will help configure, troubleshoot, and automate commodity network hardware for the installation, upgrade, and support of our HPC System Management platform. The team heavily uses Python but a working knowledge of Go and Bash is desirable. Coding and the use of a CI/CD pipeline is required, and the team can assist you with good software design practices. Additional responsibilities include participation in the design and implementation of network components for the next-generation HPE HPC System Management platform. A working knowledge of one or more specialty areas of Leaf-Spine Fabrics, EVPN-VXLAN, IPv6, and declarative network automation, is highly desirable.
