Qualifications

Required

  • Accounting experience with exposure to statutory, management-based, tax and GAAP for financial reporting and budgeting
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Math)
  • Demonstrated initiative to serve as a resource for team members and independently manage projects
  • Written and verbal communication skills to provide superior customer service to a variety of business partners
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to review and analyze financial statements and reports
  • Understanding of the structure of the data within financial and administration systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and meet prescribed deadlines

Preferred

  • Knowledge of insurance accounting concepts and products
  • Reinsurance accounting experience

Full Job Description

Join our dynamic Institutional Retirement Solutions (IRS) finance team as a Accounting Sr. Analyst. It's an exciting time for IRS as we work to broaden our product offerings and implement capabilities new to Securian and in some cases, new to the industry.

You'll work with a diverse range of clients, focusing on Institutional Retirement products such as Pension Risk Transfer, Guaranteed Investment Contracts and Evergreen Group Annuities. Our team works closely with Accounting Policy to design accounting for new products prepares the accounting entries for our GAAP and Statutory financial statements. In addition, we work closely with auditors (both internal and external) and prepare numerous schedules and exhibits for internal and external reporting requirements, including rating agency presentations, blue book financial schedules, and internal data and metric preparation for senior management.

Physical Job Requirements:

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$56,000.00 - $103,000.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
