Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences.
  • Specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service.
  • Experience in leading teams to successfully implement complex international HIV prevention, care and/or treatment programming.
  • Experience working successfully to support USAID mission health offices, teams and staff.
  • Experience successfully navigating USG and USAID policies and procedures including recruitment of staff and performance management.

Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Basic Requirement: Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained. Specialized Experience: GS-15: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes: a) experience in leading teams to successfully implement complex international HIV prevention, care and/or treatment programming; b) experience working successfully to support USAID mission health offices, teams and staff; AND c) experience successfully navigating USG and USAID policies and procedures including recruitment of staff and performance management. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Selective Placement Factor: This position has a Selective Placement Factor, which is a skill, knowledge, ability, or other characteristic essential for the job's satisfactory performance. The Selective Placement Factor represents the minimum requirements for this position and is a prerequisite for appointment. Selective Placement Factor: Do you possess technical work experience related to the supervision of staff and implementation of programs that address prevention, care and treatment maximizing uptake of, retention in, and adherence to key HIV interventions promoted at the population, community and facility levels? You will receive credit for all qualifying experience relevant to the position's duties to be filled, including volunteer experience. CTAP/ICTAP candidates will be referred to the selecting official if they are found well qualified.
