The Maintenance Mechanic at Aerotek in Greenfield, MA, is responsible for setting up and maintaining extrusion machinery and ancillary equipment according to the production schedule. Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain extrusion machinery and ancillary equipment according to production schedule
  • Read and interpret work orders to determine set up procedures and necessary ancillary equipment to meet specifications
  • Install dies, machine screws and sizing rings on machines that extrude thermoplastic materials
  • Change and/or clean dies on extruding machines according to production line changes
  • Perform die lip changes as necessary
  • Change and/or clean screws
  • Perform roll changes which may include scuffing rolls
  • Perform deckle changes as necessary
  • Position, align, and secure ancillary equipment i.e. shearers, slitting knives, winders, unwinders
  • Troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Maintain tooling such as deckles, slitters, roll and pump conditions
  • Notify maintenance of any necessary repairs or maintenance required

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements in fractions and decimals
  • Ability to perform minor metal fabrication and carpentry tasks
  • Ability to follow daily, weekly, and monthly schedules to plan work priorities
  • Ability to travel between facilities and maintain a good driving record
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to work overtime if required to meet business demands
  • Ability to use a computer, including manufacturing software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with workers and supervisor
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex multiple step instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems and non-standardized situations with multiple variables

**Pay:** $24.00- $26.00

**Location:** Greenfield, MA

**SHIFT-**

**Days:**

6:45 am-7:05 pm,

rotating two days on/ three days off and three days on/ two days off schedule

**Nights:**

6:45 pm-7:05 am,

rotating two days on/ three days off and three days on/ two days off schedule

**(This includes occasional weekend work)**
