The Eversource Engineering Professional Development Program is designed to provide Associate Engineers with career development, training, and varied work experience over a 2-year period.   • Lead the Company efforts in strategically determining networks solutions for essential voice and data services.
  • Responsible for the design and engineering support for the construction, maintenance, and operation of Overhead and Underground Transmission Lines.

Qualifications

Required

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering
  • Focus in electric power systems engineering preferred
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license
  • Available to work emergency restoration assignments as required
  • Available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary

Full Job Description

The Eversource Engineering Professional Development Program is designed to provide our Associate Engineers with an opportunity for career development, training, and varied work experience\. The program is 2 years in duration and provides everyone an opportunity to gain experience working in at least two different engineering areas\. The program will start in June 2025\.

**Assignment Areas:**

**Protection & Control Engineering** : team is responsible for the design and operation of the devices and systems used to detect abnormal system conditions, such as electrical faults, and take automatic or supervisory control actions to isolate, mitigate, and restore the Transmission and Distribution system\. _B\.S\. Electrical Engineering_

Individuals with a focus in electric power systems engineering preferred\.

**Substation Engineering Special Projects:** The purpose of Special Projects division within Substation Design Engineering is to provide Substation Design support on non\-traditional projects \(Battery Storage, Distributed Energy Resource \(DER\), Large Generator Interconnects, Strategic Projects, Off\-shore Wind\) from initiation through Conceptual\. Responsibility includes working closely with the regional team and internal/external stakeholders for timely completion of the required deliverables\.

_BS in Electrical Engineering_

**Substation Technical Engineering:** team plays a critical role in acceptance testing and commissioning of new substation equipment and upgrades as well as troubleshooting of installed equipment\. _B\.S\. Electrical Engineering_

**Capital Projects Engineering:** team coordinates the engineering efforts and is the interface between engineering and other project team members on certain projects\. The projects are either large in scope, are strategic in nature and / or have significant financial impact to the Company\. _BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering_

**Telecommunications Engineering:** team leads the Company efforts in strategically determining networks solutions for essential voice and data services required to operate and manage the Electric and Gas Transmission and Distribution Systems including Information Technology Systems\. _B\.S\. Electrical Engineering_

**Transmission Line Engineering** : team is responsible for the design and engineering support for theconstruction,maintenance, and operation of Overhead and Underground Transmission Lines on the Eversource Transmission System\. _BS in Civil Engineering_

Engineers will receive business area briefings and technical training to prepare them for a successful career at the largest New England electric utility\.

**Education, Qualifications:**
