  • Obtain consents/releases related to patient care according to hospital policy and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free environment while performing safe techniques.
  • Utilize the chain of command to report concerns regarding safety, staffing, patients, quality, and potential emergent situations.
  • Apply emergency protocols as necessary.
  • Participate in unit based, quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the measurement and monitoring of key processes including patient safety, medications, operative procedures, adverse events, restraint usage, and effectiveness of pain management, infection prevention, patient flow issues, customer satisfaction, and readmissions.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited associate degree (ASN), and/or diploma in nursing.
  • Current and unrestricted NY licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS required upon hire or within 3 months.

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program.
  • ACLS and PALS preferred, but required within 6 months.
