  • Remove and prepare test specimens from large and small welded plates, round and square bars, forgings, casting of irregular shapes, etc. for testing in a metal testing laboratory.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience or formal education in a machining program from a college
  • High school diploma
  • Able to operate metal cutting saws, belt sanders and hand tools, manual lathes and milling machines, as well as CNC machines
  • Able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
  • Able to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English
  • Able to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance to the equipment
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Able to pass a drug test

Preferred

  • Training in machining program or certification

[SUMMARY OF POSITION:

[We are looking for a Machinist who is hardworking, safety conscious, detail oriented, and willing to learn. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and a commitment to precision work. You will perform a variety of routine metal cutting and machining duties using metalcutting saws, abrasives saws, belt sanders, manual and HAAS CNC lathe, manual Bridgeportmilling machines, etc. to remove and prepare test specimens from large and small welded plates, round and square bars, forgings, casting of irregular shapes, etc. for testing in a metal testing laboratory.

REQUIREMENTS:







- A
minimum of two (2) years of experience is required; however, some formal education in a machining program from a college can be substituted toward the experience requirement.
- High school diploma.
Training in machining program or certification is preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic math.
- Able to operate metal cutting saws, belt sanders and hand tools, manual lathes and milling machines, as well as CNC machines.
- Able to lift 50 lbs, unassisted.
- Able to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English.
- Able to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance to the equipment.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Able to pass a drug test.
