Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience with automated testing, developing test scripts, test cases and test plans.
  • 5+ years of experience with test automation tools, open source, and COTS test automation frameworks, including Playwright, Cucumber, Postman, Selenium.
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies.
  • 2+ years of experience working with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with integration and API testing, test methodologies, QA process, and the software release cycle.
  • Knowledge of containerization including Kubernetes, Sonobouy, and ArgoCD.
  • Knowledge of release procedures and software defect tracking.
  • Object-oriented programming concepts knowledge.
  • Experience working for the US Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Ability to apply appropriate test methodologies including writing test plans and test cases.
  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Ability to work independently and on diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Full Job Description

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development - and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible. As a test engineer on our team, you'll use your experience to work with testers, developers, and engineers to evaluate software developed for the Veterans Affairs Department using ServiceNow. You'll build a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automated and manual processes, you'll generate data and execute the test cases to see how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You'll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor health of the system as part of an established DevOps Pipeline. This is an opportunity to supercharge your skills by writing the code to test the code using opensource tools like Selenium WebDriver and Postman. You'll also broaden your experience in working with the Veterans Affairs Department on a large-scale system while sharing your testing experience with your team.
